how do i remove a sun-worn shape from my carbon fiber hood?
so i bought this checkered carbon fiber hood from a guy on craigslist, in perfect shape, except it looks like the previous owner had a really large Superman decal on it for a long time, and then removed it.
basically, the entire hood is very slightly yellowed/opaque, and there's a big spot in the center in the perfect shape of the superman logo that's perfectly clear and shiny.
any way i can either restore the rest of the hood to the same clarity, or any way i can reduce the sheen on the center spot to make it match the rest?
someone told me i should take some rubbing compound and a rotary buffer to it. ideas, advice, hints?
thanks in advance!
